The most complete heart rate and GPS watch I owned. Have had div Polar, Garmin 305, 610, 910 and the Fenix 2 before this time and it is absolutely stunning.
Was looking for a watch that I can have both everyday and I may have when I train.
Drive running (most ground in dense forest, reflex courses, etc.), swimming, swimrun, skiing and cycling. Think it is the most complete clock I've owned so far. 910an was good but it did not have to watch everyday, 610an worked like clock but had not simfunktionerna. Fenix 2 was painfully slow and struck one example. on notifications so they pulled out the battery on any day.
This watch is all of that and more. Very smooth with wifi so you get over all the workouts directly in your phone. Do it finds the satellites very fast and has registered a way point or run in the same place before it does not take many seconds before it finds the satellites.
The only thing I miss might be a good quick release that is found to 910 to easily move it between the arm and the bike instance. Besides, it is very complete!
November 2015: Fenix 3 works well in the open air, far from trees and buildings. I bought it shortly after launch in early 2015 for its long battery suitable for Vätternrundan. If you would rather have a GPS watch for running on the jogging track in or near the forest, avoid it! The measurement accuracy with partial sky is lousy! The route is different for me about 400 m of 10 km compared with the old cheap Forerunner 110 and 210 (ironically also from Garmin). In percentage terms, it is perhaps not a huge difference (even if it is bad for a watch which cost 4700 SEK), but the worst part is that accumulate on the piece where the exercise track runs in the forest. During the kilometers differed in my case (Tveta-mile, Sodertalje) About 30 s / km pace at about 6 min / km - that is, paced information becomes completely unusable. In 2015, the software was extremely buggy and common basic functionality intervals and route tracking did not work at all. No Garmin could ever having used the watch yourself, there is no doubt. New software released in panic to fix bugs, but several times they succeeded in bug fixes, paja other functions that previously worked. There are even a forum where Garmin's own developers releasing beta versions of a subset of bug fixes for those who can not wait for the next (untested) release! I tried using Garmin Swedish support push developers at the miserable performance with partial sky was due to be disposed of software (can be addressed with skills and time), or discarded hardware / antenna (can not be corrected). I asked them, among other things describe how the weighted measurements to the predictions of their filters, what kinds of filters they use, what changes they have made since the Forerunner, and the like. Support replied the first 4-5 times with the standard reply that "updating the software and try again" or "we are replacing the clock with a new example, try again", but finally they sent is actually also my questions to the developers. The answer was:
We have received replies from the product developers:

We will not be able to comment on the development of technology in the unit, but based on your feedback

After a very long dialogue with Garmin support (and two (!) Replacement bells) I managed to finally cancel the purchase. I have returned to my old Forerunner 210 that do not have as long a battery life but instead has an impressive precision in the forest, even though it is so simple. I've been using Garmin for many years but now it will never one to ...
Two stars because it is quite stylish and has a good screen and good battery life. The only thing it is not good for is GPS watch ... Do not you trust my judgment as little googling or check at least Garmin's own forums, which are full of complaints about Fenix 3. And of course, you should always train in the open field and do it is worth the price, so why not ...
Love this clock. Have had it since it came to sales. Use it daily as everyday and training watch. Good GPS and many clever function. Can download apps and can be adapted to your use. Good battery life to be GPS clock. Possible to charge while you have it on if you are going on longer trips and power bank.
Also good that one can see messages and calls, although Bluetooth Connect out all the time with me. Was not so in the beginning, and does not know whether it is mobile or clock.
Subtract a star because of bugs that occasionally pops up when new update.
GPS works like that sometimes, especially in the woods, comparable to my iPhone 5s but otherwise the clock well with many fine features.
Very pleased with the Phoenix 3, incredibly stylish and lovely display! Not yet users training features, but do they meet my requirements.
