Superb image quality; by far the best display I've sat in front. 1ms response time and G-Sync is also the best game screen that I have had the pleasure to use. The fact that it looks like a normal screen, without the bling-bling and LEDs as other gaming screens suffer from, is also a big plus for me who have passed 30th
The only thing to complain about is that the power switch on the bottom of the screen is just too hard. It is almost as if the screen overturning before the button is pressed. Other buttons on the bottom of the panel suffers from the same problem with the. Luckily you do not need to hit them particularly often ...
I have had the screen now in a few days. I come from a Eizo Foris FS2333 that has an IPS panel. Sure, this is a TN panel, but after calibration, it has almost as good as my old color screen. The viewing angle is obviously bad, but it is something you can count on when buying a monitor with a TN panel.
I calibrated the screen with tftpanels profile: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/icc_profiles/dell_s2716dg.icc
In addition, I changed the following settings in the screen:
Color: R (97%), G (99%), B (96%)
144 Hz and 1440p is magic! Player most Overwatch and it is like night o day compared to my old monitor. NOTE! To enjoy this screen needed a juicy graphics, 10xx series to be specific.
Bought this after hearing all sorts of horror stories about IPS screens.
Read about a lot of different sides, most of them gave really good review, while some solid overall display and said that the colors were bad, etc.
straight from the box, I can agree that the colors were washed out and boring, but after using '' Fattys Gone Wild '' ICC profile from Overclock.net and then reduce the brightness a lot so everything looks absolutely perfect, think this looks better than my old Dell which was an E-IPS screen.
To go from 1920 x 1200 to 2560 x 1440, and from 60 Hz to 144.Det heeelt is wonderful when you play Overwatch!
Do not be fooled by them where flashy IPS screens, is a reason that they are becoming as cheap as this screen, they suffer from very rubbish simply.
No dead pixels, no IPS glow, wonderful!
Have had the screen for two weeks now and is no more than satisfied! Chose between it and an Asus PG278Q, but it went away pretty fast after reading about all the problems. Do not regret my purchase!
Replaced my old Benq XL2411Z against this when my computer is rather oversized for just 1080P. If you compare these two screens so Dell has better colors after some tweaking spirit of settings. Viewing angles are okay, compared to my old screen and this was the straw sharper. To be just a TN panel, I think it performs excellent! Maybe none of you who is doing image editing and the like, but I bought it for gaming!
Run the following settings on the screen:
The Nvidia control panel, I changed the following:
Digital Vibrance 60%
The rest I drive like it was from the beginning.
In short, a good screen for gaming.
+ No Backlight Bleed
+ No dead pixels
+ Appearance that does not scream gaming
+ G sync 144hz
- For small buttons below the screen, hard to tap into.
- Monitor the Deep Sleep mode, encourages you to turn it off
Have had it now for a couple of weeks and are extremely satisfied. Have a LG L22WT 22 incher that I sat with before and it's a big difference now that I have them next to each other!
The first thing I did was download TFTcentrals color profile
on the screen and what a difference! From the delivery was very pale and colorless so it was a lot better. Really good for being a TN panel which obviously can not be compared with IPS or equivalent.
Then it was really nice with 144 hertz and G-sync function.
No dead pixels. Have not tested to see back-bleed but it looks pretty good without running deeper track of it.
Fairest is to escape all these quality problems as ASUS and Acer have had with their G-sync monitors where there is a lottery whether to get a flawless display and even how long it should be flawless ..........
It is stylish and has a solid base which does not sway whenever you happen to brush against the screen. Plus with height adjustable feet!
The only negative that does not concern me so much is the viewing angle is right discarded. Plus, when the screen goes into sleep mode, but not the computer as the image moves over to 22 tummaren and then you have to disable the Dell screen and turn it on again to get the picture back ...... Works, however, it must then Also the computer lost in sleep mode.
