MSI deliver what they promise, this is indeed a quiet yet powerful card. My sitting in a Fractal Design Node 202 and ventilation / suction hole for the graphics card, I have more or less next to your ear and you hear almost nothing. Had previously an EVGA 980 Ti and it sounded much more, now you should bear in mind that the GTX 980 TI has a TDP of 250W, while the GTX 1080 has a TDP of 180W, which can be a bit of a significant factor.
The card itself is large, both in length and width so it might be good to check the specifications of this and make sure it fits in the chassis you have. In addition, I have nothing to carp down. A top-notch cards quite easily.
+ Everything is good except cons
+ Get what you pay you get plus more.
+ Supersilent: fans spin show it is not hot enough, I could not hear them spin under four rich extreme driving which is a 4K gaming benchmark.
+ Good clockspeed and overclocking capabilities.
+ No games that it does not hit 144fps constantly in FullHD.
vis one sets rgb logo on red looks the more pink out.
Have had my card in any month now and really have to say that I love it! quiet and cool it, and do not draw much power at all. awesome card!
Switched from an MSI GTX980.
After about 3 weeks of use, I can say the following:
+ Quiet even under load in gaming mode.
+ Equivalent power consumption gtx980.
+ PERFORMANCE, found it hard to imagine that there would be such a difference between one generation.
- The price. It is loud but it's the performance then
No coilwhine on my ex
I have two of them in SLI mode with OC BIOS (available for download from MSI) for 4K gaming. High performance despite low power consumption, but above all they are very quiet even under load - that's why I chose MSI Gaming X.
I am clearly satisfied!
