Wonderful portrait lens, best buy! Good sharpness and nice blur for reasonable money!

This lens represents 1/4 of my favorite setup for APS-C cameras with Canon EF-S 10-22/3 0.5 to 4 5. EF 35/2, 0 and EF 50/1, 4th With APS-C you get when 16-35mm/56mm/80mm/136mm which cover most needs. EF 85/1, 8 is a cruel tele! It is bright, signs razor sharp images and fast, quiet and safe spot AF. Bokeh is very beautiful with this loophole. Something that bothers me however as hell, is that the lens hood to the aperture (Canon ET-65 III) is some kind of "snap-on" version, which makes it loose and a little loose. Very bad of Canon to make such sopig construction on a loophole that otherwise have very high kvalitetsänsla!

Awesome. The ultimate lens to take great pictures indoors in gymnasiums without flash. Performs even extraordinary outdoors. Performing well, as good as 85 1.2 which is several hundred dollars more expensive.

The ultimate lens for facial portrait in the budget category! Get approved in all respects, mainly regarding picture quality and price. This may be very personal, but the lens at this focal length has a fairly limited range of applications, partially due lousy focusing distance. I have skipped this and stick with 50mm, 100mm and 135mm instead.
