Simo90 summarizes well in his review.
Do the poorer optical and sensor wise than my HX60.
Good size, very handy. Poor ISO handling with small sensor.
Acceptable, but not more. Wished cam type Panasonic TZ100 though smaller in size. Hope Sony releases a similar!
Luckily I bought my used 3 $ 500 is not worth.
I purchased this camera to replace a (moderately old) SLR, and on this basis, I am disappointed. As a compact camera is feature rich, and especially nice is it with the viewfinder, rotating screen, high-zoom function and the ring around the lens. However, it is a shame that the zoom at full utilization completely destroys the image quality, the function of the ring can not be used, for example, manual focus, that you get recurring problems with over-exposed image, noisy images (camera's ISO Auto is entirely fail), as well as some other small minus (eg the camera is a bit slow, and test one's patience now and then) . In poor lighting conditions, the camera is useless - my Sony smartphone took better pictures in a scenario in the darkness ...
In its entirety, it is an acceptable compact camera, but nothing special and with many weaknesses. The price tag reflects the feature richness and sophistication, not picture quality.
Clearly satisfied. Always have a camera with me in my pocket work. So every time I order a new camera, so it must be sufficiently flexible in format, not just small in just a few dimensions, it fits comfortably in a jacket pocket for example, Uses me most of the macro situation, and it is good, though I have had better. 30x zoom is more than enough for what I use the camera to.
Build quality feels very good for the price. The functions are as many as in most cameras today.
Sony's suitable camera bag, and it protects well and is much better than a dozen garbage that fits "all" cameras.
