Have had this product for just over one year, feel that there is one fine product but feel it is a bit overpriced not worth as much.
Have now had these in a little more than a year after buying them on sale for 1999kr from inet. They have worked well up until about two months ago, after I have had problems talking to Skype with them when my mic "fadear" off, i.e. those who I'm talking to can not hear me some moments. This problem does not appear in the TS or in-game, so odds are there's a problem with Skype.
As the price of these is among the highest available in the market for gaming headsets as I had expected them to perform at. Must say I'm a little disappointed in them when they have several flaws:
- Mick is pretty bad sound on and it sounds even sometimes like to sit in a "canned" and talking.
- The sound is not quite balanced, but had to avail myself of my sound card's equalizer to make it sound reasonably good.
- The roars of the headphones when not playing any sound on your computer.
- Battery life is pretty bad, would say that it takes about 4-5 hours if you sit in the TS and play at the same time or listening to music.
- Do not go to use if you do not have an optical port for audio on your motherboard / soundcard, the sound that you get from USB is very low and poor quality (no DTS?).
- Large / Heavy
Now that I have taken up all that bad, I must also mention the good things :)
+ There are those ABSOLUT most comfortable headphones I have ever had on me, not found any others that come close.
+ Smart function to be able to fold up the microphone to mute / mutea it.
+ Surround sound works really well.
+ Wireless headsets are superior, if you have not tested yet, it's time!
+ Very good sound (though not out of the box) with deep bass, after a little tinkering with the equalizer
I've had a couple of Corsair H2100 before and must say that it had actually been a bit better battery life, better sound on the mic and not very much inferior sound. The big difference with these I think are the surround sound and comfort.
Had the A50, but unfortunately it was too bad battery, very lax microphone and poor quality of this product as it did in return. Had big problems for the rest of the microphone to make it work. The sound was really good and the A50 was comfortable to wear just. A little short microphone, which can cause it gets a little bad sound. Tested with Skype and Teamspeak. Decided to act A40 TR instead of PC / Xbox.
Start by saying that I love these kids.
Previously used Sony's own wireless that I abandoned because of terrible lack of comfort and bad buttons, on the other hand, I loved the on-screen indications with the headset, something I really miss this. I use the Halo model (on PS4) is by far the nicest in my opinion, stylish and discreet details.
They are easy to get started even if it takes a few steps to get the sound they are supposed to deliver, but all instructions are well documented on the Astros website and it goes fast and is very easy steps (should be said that all the high-end wireless surround headphones requires the same steps when they are not sending sound via a USB transmitter).
But the most important thing, then, the sound. It's incredible! The first time I tested faktist there were moments when I was verging on checked over my shoulder. They have a fantastic space and scope in sound, it does not feel like the sound source is a few centimeters from the ears - I see it rather as a meter if not more sometimes. I've tested both movies, games and music and think leverarar very well in all contexts, but they really shine when playing. Have stopped using my regular speakers completely when I'm myself when the sound of these are so good.
The comfort is excellent with very little except for the weight, but honestly, I think not on it after a while when they faktist become more beautiful after they sat on the head for a while, they blend into the head. I do not have glasses anyway so can not answer for how they are then.
Then the last thing that I think is essential to assess the microphone. D I understand that my speech is clearly and unnecessary and tedious background noise filtered out.
Otherwise, I think the buttons on the headset works superbly and the same can be said about the buttons on the transmitter. Good positioned and comfortable response to them, the only real negative is that it is tricky controls for changing between the different sound settings (but still using only one so does not really matter). Then you will be warned that the battery level of late and can only see the level if you take off the headset, and even then it's little modest indication. Finally, it is sky-high construction quality. I live on 37 square meters and can walk around the whole apartment without losing contact whatsoever, can talk freely throughout the apartment, and hear the sound being transmitted without interruption. Something that's very nice especially when sitting longer sessions with a number in a chat, never having to take off the headset when you need the toilet or the like, just flip up the microphone as the bribed.
Astro makes the best gaming headset for the PS4 and all other systems too much when they work at all.
I have used these for the PC in nearly a year.
The sound is very good for the most part. But you use the microphone to talk on Skype or similar programs can be heard is a clear buzz in the right ear cup. Search online and you will see many have this problem.
Sometimes broken microphone so people I talk to in such skype miss half the sentences or words. This only happens when I run another application that plays audio on the PC simultaneously. As an example, a video program or a game. As the head-set can not handle sending and receiving too much data simultaneously.
I have of course tested all the connections, downloading any firmware, changed into a pair of new! But the same problem.
Despite these get astro a50 well in the ratings (Better than
SteelSeries H Wireless buzzing constant). The reason for the rating is that it mostly sounds just fine and it is simply impossible to get a completely noise or interference-free headset. Although some good will close (see the Creative SoundBlaster). For me it will be wired hereafter ...
