A home theater projector FullHD
Good with inputs.
Advantage that it is white if you want to mount it on a white roof
Sounds unfortunately a lot of the fan bothers movie viewing
A certain amount of light leakage at the fan grille that gives a disturbing light moon in the ceiling near the projector itself
My first projector. Bought it much because specs at low fan noise. Also had read many reviews where people write that projen is "barely audible" and "silent". But was very disappointed when this proj sounds far above 26dB :(
First thought there was something wrong with my ex, but after I read a little more so it seems to be two camps, some think it is super quiet somsagt, while others with me more similar to that of a combine harvester.
The actual fan noise does not bother me so much, hum similar to white noise, or a waterfall on very low volume, it blends into the room atmosphere. However, it is a tone that emerges at certain frame rates, I have discovered. Eg when TV viewing was extremely sound (50Hz) while when I looked at bluray so it was more comfortable (24Hz). I imagine it's the color wheel spins at different rates depending on the frequency, and then generates the disturbing sounds, funny enough that it does not interfere with the 30Hz or 60Hz.
So I did a little more thoroughly test. I sent different frame rates and recorded the fan noise for easier comparison. Everything is recorded with the light on the Eco mode. Approximately 1m straight under projen (above really when it's up and down ceiling mounted). I have used a Octava mic and a Marantz PMD 661 with exactly the same settings on all settings. Furthermore, I took everything into Pro Tools, laid on a high pass filter at 100hz to remove the worst bumlet that is not relevant.
The result is here for those interested.
The rest of projen I'm very happy with, the colors are exemplary and it is bright enough not to have a completely darkened room. The price was also very attractive. But the next projector should I definite demand to listen to in a reasonably quiet room before.
A fullHD projector that looks clear ok out design-wise, however, feels plastic shell little too "plastigt" - ie no further quality feel.
No problem with the rainbow '
Have had problems with picture / input signal and then have had contact with their support - and they are unfortunately beneath contempt - Kass
