Has taken 1st edition and 2nd edition of Chomecast and been very happy with them. When the 3rd version released (Chomecast Ultra) I chose initially not to upgrade. But after a while I got wind of an app called Telia Play +. The app had chromecast aid or via the app, I got access to my entire TV supply in mobile. The app led us in the family ended up using our seeeega motor'OLA 'TV box from Telia, but began to use Chromecast support of Telia Play + app instead. The only drawback with chromecast 2 was that it was run over Wifi, and despite 5gigHZ bands and AC support from the router, I was looking for faster channel switching / changing the movie / series, and faster start-up time of streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, HBO etc .... With chromecast ULTRA could turn the Ethernet cable directly to the charger of the dongle, plus it had a new faster CPU that would lead to faster processing. After ordering the product, and now a few weeks of use, I can say: improvements: 1) Start-up times have been faster for some apps but still not significant for all. Experiencing such as Netflix about as fast now with Chromecast Ultra connected to the Ethernet cable versus 2nd edition to Wifi (5gigHz AC support). Do not buffering increased significantly was the case of Netflix. For svtplay, Telia Play +, HBO, Viaplay, Eurosport Player, Cmore I experience an improvement. Both in start times and changing of film / stream. How much percentage is difficult to say but it is clearly faster anyway. The biggest improvement I feel youtube. It has probably halved its start-up and change of mowing time. 2) Picture Enhancement? Have an old 1080p television that is 7 years old, which means no 4k support. Hence, I can not see with the eye of the picture has improved. Can möjlighetvis be that it has become better but I think the feeling is more of psykolgisk degree;) 3) No new feature? Apart from that the charging cable with the ability to plug in the Ethernet cable *, and 4k support, I can not think of any more feature that is new in comparison with the 2nd edition. impairments: 1) USB plug into your TV, you can not operate chromecast ultran Then chromecast Ultra are very thirsty on the current in the 4k support and fatter processors, is not no TV's USB output for powering the device. This means that you must always use the power cable to your Chromecast. Thus, you can not supply power to your Chromecast from the TV's USB. It will not work. 2) unstable software. Have had to restart my chromecast Ultra 2 times a month now, the picture sometimes stuck in the black mode. Both times it has occurred, when I am turning on the television. So it seems the error occur when ultran not used in a while. I think another reason is that it simply never restarted, then it is always plugged into the wall jack. Know assuredly that Google is working with these instability problems. However, it must be added that it is functioning perfectly during use so far. So really this is a small problem. 3) Heat Development This is sick finicky, but I have experienced that the device itself is always warm. Even when you had the TV off for a while. It feels as if it lies and spins, even though you do not use the. Do not know why this is so. If it is Google that uses the device in any way, or if it does something else. The strange thing is that it does not seem to lose any "sleep". A trifle matter, but a warm device means that it is and draw some power. Probably much more than the 2nd edition, which actually was cool when you were not using it. 4) Price. Expensive compared to 2nd edition. 2nd edition costs 380kr, Chromecast ultran costs 780kr. Are you looking for Ethernet support, you can buy 2nd edition, plus loads with the same support (See link at the bottom), for a cost of 380 + 169. ***Summation*** The answer is I on the issue of chromecast ultran has speeded up the handling of streaming services. However, the increase in speed significantly in some areas while other are not very large. Personally I'm happy with the change because I want the absolute fastest handling that can be obtained. My motor'OLA 'box stands and ponds somewhere, and one thing is clear. It was tougher than Telia play + with chromecast ultra-switched ethernet. For you who do not have a 4k TV, or care about, on a youtube clip takes 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds to start, so I recommend you buy 2nd edition instead. Are you eager to improve the response times of the 2nd edition by using the Ethernet cable is the possibility of ordering the cable from the Google website (see bottom). It is free shipping and costs only 169kr. Expect, however, with a dull delivery because it is free shipping when you learn to wait a week before you get cable. PS: * There is now a new type of charger and cable Chromecast 2nd edition and the first edition which also means that one can be turned on or Ethernet cable for faster processing of streaming content. https://store.google.com/product/ethernet_adapter_for_chromecast?hl=sv Have not tried this solution, but for those who want to increase their speed on old devices and Ethernet connection near the TV, it may be worth trying. It is a cheaper option than buying chromecast ultran.

Unfortunately suffer Chromecast Ultra of teething. Each and every other time you cast to the entire image will become tintad in blue, sometimes the picture is completely blank and the unit needs to be restarted. No response from Google, and before this is fixed, I recommend that you order the usual Chromecast instead that works flawlessly. The functionality itself is nothing wrong. Stability is however for the poor. The unit becomes very hot and requires constant reboots to function again. If this solved the grade will be adjusted up.

Run wired and have no problem with throwing Ultra HD / HDR from Netflix :) Some sound issues with some apps only. Will be there!
