Bought during the day, I was really pleased. Good sound, easy to install and many HDMI inputs.
Good receiver, switched simultaneously sounds so can not compare with previous Yamaha receiver. But good sound and good options.
Less to input changes are tough.
It is a function "Auto Standby" sounds fine but if you have a computer connected sometimes quiet if you eg surfing, it turns off after 15minutes. It should know that the image is moving, and therefore do not switch off.
Have also experienced that sometimes have problems to show the computer image, just gets a great myrkrig instead, is succeeded by switching input and forth.
Compare with my old Yamaha v473. Became a real boost in sound quality with this amplifier. Many good smart features. Less of it is a bit slow between the input switches and HDMI inputs already have names on the remote control as DVD, satellite, game, CD, instead of the HDMI 1, 2, 3, etc.
Bought on sale after Christmas, partly because it has component inputs, as our old DVD has HDMI.
But you can not get component video signals to HDMI (projector / TV), but must connect component cables from the stereo to the TV. This is not described anywhere in the instructions or on the web. But Sony support confirmed it when I asked the question.
"It is normal behavior for our amplifiers when there is no sync between component and HDMI.
HDMI is the only pass-through and works only with HDMI inputs.
To get the picture from the DVD, you must also then connect the component from the amplifier. "
So do you need for component video so avoid this.
It also drops the sound for 2-3 seconds randomly and then in films independent of the HDMI source. Hopefully just a manufacturing defect in my unit who go back to the store.
But the remote is the easiest I've seen such a skilled amplifier.
