Had the former nuclear power plant Hegel H300 which is great but it took up too much space. Residents in the apartment so prior to the listen volumes at lower levels and that is where Voice shines. HiFi & Music measured the Voice to 185W in 4Ohm and it is enough for my Dynaudio Focus 160 is a tripod speaker rather cumbersome cargo.
DAC in-amp is really good character too.
Connectivity-wise, there is everything I need including a pre-out for my subwoofer.
Fresh white color fits well in most Swedish homes, ie high acceptance wife.
10 Ready-pointers in everything except the price.
Extremely good and distinctive sound! I was looking for an amp to power my rather demanding Dynaudio Excite X-18.
I first looked at the Hegel H160, which on paper had enough power to make the speakers justice. H160 sounded very good, but when I then listened to the voice, I felt like I had come home. Both amplifiers sounded very good, but the voice was more detailed and better suited for delicate music. I listen to a lot of jazz, classical and some pop, and voice really feels right for me and my speakers. For some svettigare music I guess H160s higher power makes it a better choice.
The voice delivers on paper 2x75 watts into 8 ohms, but have been measured up to 2x115 watts if I remember correctly. The play is not very high, but for the volume I play with in 98% of cases it is quite sufficient. I can not say that I have no more power so much that I play.
Connectivity options are also very good. I stream Spotify through both AirPlay and Chromecast audio with optical output, and both of these options sounds good, not far from CD quality.
Extremely well! Have had Hegel H80- H160- H360 and tested at home before. Hegel's voice sounds as good as H360 at my house. Nothing bad reviews :)
The small amplifier connects really a "stranglehold" on the speakers and play incredibly tight and clean. Have had some problems with not getting the perfect base before (the stuff in the living room). Now the base is so hard and tight and well-articulated to astonishment.
H160 is really not the same resolution and iron track that has voice on the speakers even though more power. The voice sounds really dissolved and clean the entire registry without sounding sharp or intrusive at any time. The total silence that exists between the instruments, voices and breath is very impressive with Voice!
It feels a whole lot more powerful than what specs say. Really good pressure!
In addition, Voice very sensible and thoughtful features and connections.
The look is also full pot (there are not many stereo amplifier that looks good on the bench)
Combines with Dynaudio Excite X18 (the combination is really successful)
